The goal of this case study was to gain some perspective on problem-solving user experience issues by designing a more accessible and
user-friendly interface and establishing a visual consistency for Southwest Airlines’ mobile app.
One of the main components to successful UX Design is an attention to visual consistency.
Southwest Airlines’ mobile app has a general problem with a
lack of consistent design principles that results in an unmotivated user interface and an unclear in-app booking process.
My solution to this problem was to simplify and unify the interface by employing distinctive colors that reflect Southwest’s branding.
The result of my design is a user-focused interface
that appears brighter and prioritizes usability of the
app’s flight booking options in an
accessible and consistent visual language.
